BOARD'S MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Hospital Board was hold last night, there being present the chairman (Mr J. W. Dove), Dr Newlands, Messrs A.; F. Quelch, A. Steel,’ F. W. Venn, D.McLennan, H. S. _ Sheat, Mrs Ross, Miss Runciman, Miss Farquhar. STATISTICS. The medical superintendent (Dr -T. Thomson) reported that the number of patients remaining in the hospital on July 31 was 311, while 528 were admitted during August, bringing the total to 839. The number discharged or who died was 515, leaving 324 at the end of August. Outpatients attended, to numbered 2,433. Outdoor medical relief had been given in 471 cases. The report was adopted. DONATION FOR WORK. A donation of £7, to be subsidised by a similar amount from the board, to provide work for unemployed exservicemen in the Palmerston district was received with thanks from the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association. , REPORTS. The reports. of the various committees were adopted without discussion. TENDERS. The following tenders for various annual supplies to institutions were accepted:— Milk and Cream. —Local institutions', Mr T. Smith. Pleasant Valley Sanatorium, Mr P. Walker. Palmerston Hospital, Mr H. Brown. Bread.—Local institutions, Mr K Tanner. Walkari Hospital, Mr WTaylor.' Sanatorium and Palmerston Hospital, Mr W. J. M'Henny. Meat.—Local institutions, Messrs Bartons. Sanatorium and Palmerston. Hospital, Messrs Fraser and M'Leod. Fuel.—Mr A. H. MTherson. Outdoor Relief Supplies.—Mr E. J. Dodds.
