MOTOR COLLISION CLAIM

HEARING CONTINUED The case in which Robert David Donaldson proceeded against Archibald William Douglass (Waikouaiti), claiming £46 3s 5d as damages resulting from a motor collision which occurred at the intersection of Hanover and Castle streets, was continued before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, 5.M.,, in the Magistrate’s Court this morning. Mr C. Mowat appeared for the, plaintiff, and Mr E. J. Anderson for the defendant. The plaintiff claimed that the collision was due to negligent driving on the jiart of the defendant. This allegation was denied by the defendant, who alleged that the collision resulted from the failure of the plaintiff to keep a proper lookout for traffic approaching from tho right. In his evidence the defendant said that he was driving carefully and keeping a good lookout. Further evidence for the defence was given by James L. Gardiner and Ivan Will Hardie, after which the magistrate said he would take time to consider his decision.
