ST. KILDA METHODIST CHURCH
SALE OF WORK AHD SPRING FAIR Glorious spring weather marked the opening of the St. Kilda Methodist Church spring fair yesterday in the High street hall. The tastefully decorated stalls attracted a large patronage, and brisk business was conducted from the outset. In the evening the attractive special features were a fancy dress parade for children and a fine concert programme by the combined senior Sunday School pupils and the junior Bible class members. The hall was crowded by an enthusiastic audience. The prizes for the fancy dress competition were awarded to Betty Davies as a Dutch girl and Bruce Macdonald as a page boy. Items were presented during the evening by Misses Joyce Workman, Vera Newman. Lorna Hewit, Betty Davies, Winnie Dowie, and Colin Wraight. The following is a list of stalls and stallholders:—Guild stall, Mesdames C. Summerell and M. Muir; flower stall— Misses J. A. M'Neill, 11. Waldren, and J. Workman; produce stall—Mesdames A. M'Farlane, A. Churchill, G. Kirk, and E. J. lies; sweet stall—Mesdames W. Bissland, B. Ledgerwood, and J. Letcher: cake stall—Mesdames T. Skuse, J. Stead, B. H. Reid, B. Callister; Bible class stall, Miss V. Smyth and senior Bible class members; tea rooms —Mesdames C. Bragg, W. Gladding, and A. Douglas; taipo game, Messrs A. Lister and W. Neill. The erection of the stalls was carried on under the efficient direction of Mr R. Morris. M'r Roy Kirk was treasurer and secretary.
