CHANGE IN HEADQUARTERS
OTAGO SUGGESTION OPPOSED [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 23. The criticism of the New Zealand Swimming Council expressed by the Otago Centro in a circular recently was not upheld by the Canterbury Centre this evening. The Otago Centre said in a circular it thought a change from Christchurch as tho headquarters of the council was desirable. Tho Canterbury Centre affirmed confidence ni tho council, and instructed its delegates to oppose a change in the headquarters from Christchurch. “ The burden of the Otago Centre’s complaint is the refusal of the council to nominate P. E. Mahieson for the Olympic Games,” said the President (Mr Lyons). “ That resolves itself into a question of fact, in which the council was tho judge.” There was no discussion on the motion to affirm confidence in the centre, and the motion was carried unanimously.
