AGROUND IN FIJI GOVERNMENT YACHT PROCEEDING TO SCENE, Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright . SUVA, September 24. (Received September 24, at 11.55 a.m.) A strange vessel, believed to be a Japanese sampan, is aground off Lambasa River. The Government yacht Pioneer, with police and Customs officials aboard, left for Lambasa last evening to ensure compliance with quarantine, Customs, and immigration regulations. An unconfirmed report states that the crew landed, went to a Chinese store and purchased goods, paying in Fiji currency, and later landed at Laucala Island and chopped down a cocoanut tree.
