ABYSSINIA'S POSITION REFERRED TO HAGUE COURT Breos Association—By Telegraph—Copyright GENEVA, September 22. (Received September 23, at 10.5 a.m.) The Credentials Sub-committee unanimously decided to submit to the Hague Court the question of Abyseligibility to be represented at the Assembly. The sub-committee will advise the Assembly whether Abyssinia may meanwhile take part in the Assembly meeting. According to the British United Press correspondent, Mr W. J. Jordan repeatedly asked the committee who had objected to Abyssinia’s credentials, but received no answer. It is assumed that Italy will not attend the present Assembly, “ STATE CONTINUES TO EXIST •* GENEVA, September 21. The Abyssinian delegation sent a Note to the Credentials Committee drawing attention to the existence of a regular native Government at Gore, claiming under international law that the State of Abyssinia therefore continues to exist. _ NO EARLY SETTLEMENT GENEVA, September 22. (Received September 23, at 1 p..m.) The Credentials Committee’s proposal to refer the Abyssinian question to The Hague will be subject to the vote of the Assembly. It is recognised that The Hague might decline to give a ruling or might contend that there was insufficient information and recommend that a commission go to Western Abyssinia and investigate the conditions. Anyway, no early reply can be expected. Meanwhile Italy is adhering to her decision not to send a delegation to Geneva until the Abyssinians are finally excluded.
