Tho introduction of sound into motion pictures Ims opened up a wonderful field of entertainment; it has been made possible to enjoy to the full musical and dramatic stars we shall never see in the flesh. Thus we have had musical films of a really high artistic standard, featuring such world-famous artists as Richard Tauber, Jan Kiepura, Lawrence Tibbett, Grace Moore, Feodor Chaliapin, John M'Cormack, and Paul Robeson. Recently there was an important addition to' this imposing array of artists in the person of the popular Continental tenor, Joseph Schmidt, who plays the leading role in the 8.1. P. film. ‘My Song Goes Round the World/ which comes to the Strand next Friday Beyond all doubt, he proves himself worthy of inclusion with these famous names. Schmidt has a great opportunity in the picture of displaying his remarkable vocal talent, especially in the songs that he lias made so popular on the records, ‘ My Song Goes Round the World ’ and ‘ One Life. One Love.’ He also sings several beautiful German arias which will prove a rare treat to musical ears. In support is ‘ Don’t Get Personal,’ with James Dunne and Pinky Tomlin.
