Davis) has ne doubt that seven of the ships seen by the Wilson’s Promontory lighthouse keeper comprised a Norwegian whaling unit, bound for the south. EN ROUTE TO NEW ZEALAND. SYDNEY, September 23. (Received September 23, at 10.10 a.m.) The Minister of Defence (Sir Archdale Parkhill) said he had been advised that the ships sighted off Wilson’s Promontory were Norwegian whalers which had been operating off the Western Australian coast and were now on their way to New Zealand.
