EXPANSION OF SERVICES PROGRESS IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless.) Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, September 19. The report on the progress of civil aviation shows a marked expansion in the use of air travel, and the mile* age of British civil aircraft on Continental, Empire, and internal service* was more than doubled last year. Passengers increased by 60 per cent, and mails by SOO per cent. PAN-AMERICAN AIRWAYS SERVICE TO MANILA. NEW YORK, September 20. Pan-American Airways to-day that a regular transpacific service between San Francisco and Manil* will be begun next month. The first, passengers will embark at San Francisco on October 21, and will land si* days later, after a night in five stages. The return flight is scheduled to begin on October 29.
