MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE The Management Committee of the Otago Football Association held its weekly meeting last night, Mr M. K. Haig "presiding. The Artillery Band applied for the use of a ground for the annual match with Wardell’s on October 3. The band is to be informed that the association has no jurisdiction over any city ground after the end of September, and application should be made direct to the City Council. The Referees’ Club was granted the use of a ground on the Oval for its annual match with the Highland Pipe Band on September 26. Messrs J. Morwood and F. Ball were appointed to represent the committee at the annual social gathering of the Referees’ Club next Saturday. The balance sheet presented by the Primary Schools Committee for the South Island tournament showed that the revenue totalled £sl 4s 3d, and the sum of £l4 3s was carried forward. The financial success, as well as the sporting, was described by members as being highly creditable, and it was decided to send a letter of congratulation to the committee on its efforts. The fifth grade competition was closed, Mornington B, with 22 points in 11 games, being declared the winner, and Technical A (17 points) the runner-up. SATURDAY’S MATCHES. Second Grade.—Tramways v. High School Old Boys, at Oval No, 3, at 3.15 p.m, (Mr W. P. Smith). Presbyterian Bible class tournament, at the Oval, at 1.30 p.m. (Messrs G. Latimer, W. G.. Smith, and J, Morwood). The Otago team which played at Invercargill is requested to meet at Dowling street next Sunday at 11 a.m.
