WAIRARAPA WRECK.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l think I am correct in stating that your correspondent “X ” and also the statement in the obituary notice are both wrong. To my memory a poem was written concerning the wreck, part of which was:— Was there no hope that awful gulf to bridge? Yes, rope in hand, slipped Kendall down ~ Into the boiling tide. His powerful strokes soon formed a bridge From off the vessel’s side. Perhaps some other - reader can remember the wfiole poem or portion, and between us could complete the whole poem. My name and address will be given on application.—l am, etc., Old Timer. September 22.
