POOR PUSS!

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —What is the matter with a butcher with a shop full of meat and not a single customer at 11.35 on a Saturday morning who refused to sell 2d worth of cat’s meat? This was my experience last Saturday when I went into a city shop asking for 2d worth of cat’s meat. The owner of the shop refused to serve, saying that he would only sell a half-pound for 3d. Up till recently I was a permanent customer of this butcher. Unfortunately I was put on a diet which does not include meat. —I am, etc., Not a Money-grubber. September 21.
