Arch Druid Bro. W. Holdaway presided over the fortnight]y meeting of Lily of the Valley Lodge. No. 11, held in the Forresters’ Hall, Albany street. The general efficiency judges were present. There being no candidates present, a mods initiation ceremony was carried out. The bards reported favourably on the sick members, and sick pay amounting to £lO was passed for payment, f .A. Bro E Thompson reported on paving « visit to Mistletoe Lodge. The debating ability of the lodge was tested by a question put before the brethren* by the judges. The toast list was honoured in true Druidic fashion. The toast of the judges was replied to by P.D.P. Bro. J. T. Faulds and P.A. Bro. A. Sinclair, of Ivanhoe Lodge. The grand president and his officers and members of the Board s of Management will be in attendance next lodge night. The last meeting of Linden Lodge was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, lloslyn. the occasion being “ Old Members' Night.” Arch Druid Bro. J. Tyrrell presided over a large attend ance of members D.P. Bro H Tyr rell attended officially and was accorded a real Druidic welcome. A large amount of correspondence was dealt with. The lodge received notice thaf ’.n future the lodge surgeons would discontinue their Saturday night consulting hours. It was announced that the/ efficiency judges would be present on October 6. Discussion took place in connection with the euchre tourney and dance which are to be held next meeting. It seems as it Linden Lodge has taken a new lease of life in regard to social evenings, and nil brothers and their partners are cordially invited to attend. One new member was proposed. The old members then entertained the brothers by relating their experiences during the early years of the lodge. It was decided to meet at 7 o’clock next lodge night. Bro. Morrison, who was in charge of the supper arrangements, provided a very welcome supper, and the lodge closed in harmony at 10.30 p.m. V
Bay Lodge, No. 18, held its first meeting of the change-over to the opposite Mondav on September 7, Arch Druid Bro. J. Wilson presiding over a good attendance of members. Arch Druid Bro. P. Heaney, acompanied by P.G.P.'s Bros. Hunt and Churchill and officers and members of Royal Oak Lodge, paid an official visit and wera received with musical honours. A circular letter was received from lha secretary of the U.F.S. Council giving the doctors’ hours as from October 1. P.D.P. Bro. G. Wilson and- Bro. R* LeathJoy spoke regarding the juvenild movement. Bro. D. A. Young reported that efficiency judges would visit the lodge in the near future. P.G.P. Bro. Hunt, on behalf of Royal Oak Lodge, challenged the lodge to ti debate to be held in the Royal Oak Lodge room on October 12. the subject to be ‘ Should Friendly Societies be Amalgamated?' Bay Lodge to take the affirmative and P.D.P. Bro Wilson. P.D.P. Bro. J. A. Metcalf.'and P.A. Bro. Clinch to be the speaker* for Bar I.odgG A good night is as. sured at Royal Oak on October 12, The business was quickly dealt with, and the members and visitors sat down to an enjoyable game of cards, supper was served, and the toast* were honoured. Arch Druid Bro. Heaney and P.G.P. Bro. Churchill, responding to the toast of Royal Oak Lodge. , thanked the lodge for changing over to the alternate Monday night, thereby allowing visitations between the two lodges to be made possible. Grand President Bro. T. Johnston sent an apology tor not attending ihe meeting on account of a Grand l.'Mio visit to Hampden. An apologj was also received from Bro. A. J. Hinton,of the Board of Management. S.
