BOWLING, TENNIS, AND CROQUET

BALMAGEWEN CLUB'S MEETING The thirty-second annual meeting of the Balmacewen Bowling, Lawn Tennis, and Croquet Club was held on Thursday, when there was a good attendance of members present. Mr J. M. S. Macarthur (president) was in the chair. The various sections presented their reports, each showing a very satisfactory year’s work. The membership stood as follows: —Bowling, 64 active, 10 associate ; lawn tennis, 50 active, 8 associate; croquet, 11 active, 4 associate. The treasurer (Mr C. Grater) presented a statement of finances. which showed an excellent position, for, after providing a 5 per cent, redemption on the mortgage, it left a credit balance of £2l 13s. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—President, Mr R. L. Fairmaid; vice-presidents Bowling, Mr R. L. Fairmaid; lawn tennis, Mr A. M'Millan ; croquet, Mrs J. Swann; general secretary, Mr D. Leslie: treasurer, Mr C. Grater; auditor, Mr P. Tj. Ritcbic ; section secretaries—bowling, Mr G. Finlayson ; lawn tennis, Mr W. B. vSeymour; croquet, Mrs Ross. A special vote of thanks was ac rorded to the retiring president, Mr J. M. S. Macarthur, for his excellent services during Hie past year.
