ENGLISH FOR FRENCH
English is to replace French as th* first foreign language to be taught in all higher schools -of learning, out Germany from the beginning of 1937. Thereasons given for the change are “the practical advantages of Eng-‘ lish in the world to-day, and the closer linguistic and psychological, affinities between Germans and the nations which to-day speak that language.”
