HEAVY LOAN SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON MAYOR'S WARNING AERODROME COMPLETION AND DRAINAGE [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 18.' “It is no use putting a lot of things on our loan schedule which will not be approved by the ratepayers, said the mayor, Mr Hislop, at the meeting or the Wellington City Council, when a discussion arose on financing in© aero* drome at Rongotai and drainage works. The aerodrome would cost the city £70,000, and drainage £175,000, and. the fact that the rate levy was higher this year, and would be higher again next year had to be taken into consideration. The Mayor explained that the council had run out of the money with which to finish Rongotai. but as tha result of negotiations with .Mr Sempla (Minister of Public Works) it had been arranged that the .Government would provide £70,000 on condition that the ratepayers of Wellington found tfaa other £70,000. It was decided to hold a special meeting of the council to consider what works should be placed on the loan schedule to go before the probably in November*
