FORESTERS
The usual fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise was held in the court room, Unity Chambers, Stuart street, on Tuesday last, C.R. Bro. D., Winder presiding. All,the officers were .present except the secretary, Bro. W. Hogg, who is still laid urn S.W. Bro. Steffens and the 1.P.C.K., Bro. Houghton. The woodwards’ report was * again very favourable. It was decided to send letters of congratulation to Miss Louvain M'Donald, daughter of Bro. Neil M'Donald, and also to Bro. Norman Stewart (for his two daughters) for the successes they had gained at tho Competitions. Bro. Warren reported on the visits to Green Island, Woodlands Pride, and Excelsior. Bro. Cooper reported on the visit to Court Pride of Leith. Bro. Brettell reported on the visit to Woodlands, Pride of Dunedin, and St. Andrews, Bro. Brettell stating that the court team had qualified for the semi-finals at the tournament held at Court St. Andrews. Three nominations were received for next court night. One funeral claim was passed for payment. The C.R. gave the toast to the visitors, which was responded to by C.R. Sister Darling on behalf of Court Woodlands Pride,, P.C.R. Bro. Skeen (Court St. Andrews), S.C.R. Bro. Croft (Pride of Leith), and P.C.R. Bro. Pearson (Pride of Dunedin). After the close of the meeting the visitors and performers were admitted, it being P.C.R. Bro. George Currie’s Irish evening, about 150 being in attendance. P.C.R. Bro. Brettell occupied the chair and Bro, Currie attended to the performers. The following rendered items, which were greatly appreciated:—Bagpipe selection, Mr D. Wilson; songs—Miss Dorothy M'Kay, Mr E. Paris, Mr J., Pringle, Miss Hill, and Master W. Hamilton; recitations, Miss Brown and Miss Daphne Violich (Wellington); dances, Irish jig and hornpipe. Master Jim Fletts; violin selection. Miss Stewart. P.C.R. Bro. Alan M'Naughtoa moved a vote of thanks to the performers and Bro. Currie, : which was carried with acclamation, P.C.R. Bro. Blair, of Court Pride of Dunedin, then, presented the shield for the, waltzing championship,* which was won by the members of Court Enterprise._ C.R. Bro. Winder accepted the shield, oa behalf of Court Enterprise. P.C.R. Bro. Brettell ' then called the three couples up and presented each of the ladies with a handsome crystal vase. Supper was served by tbe court officers, A dance followed, the music being supplied by Bro. W. Hargreaves.
