ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY

The Dunedin Orchestral Society, under the conductorship of Air C. Roy Spackman, will giro the third concert of the forty-ninth season -in the Town Hall Concert Chamber on Wednesday, September 23, A most interesting and attractive programme has been prepared for this concert. Mendelssohn’s ‘ G Minor Pianoforte Concerto ’ will be played by Miss Winifred Gardner with the orchestra. It abounds* in t captivatiug > harmonies. Some new numbers will be played at this concert, the gift to the society by Mr H. Adam (a vice-president). These art the ‘ Tally-ho ’ overture, by John Ansell, and ‘ Three Irish Scenes,’ by Oscar Naylor. Following out_ the policy adopted lately by the society, a selection from a well-known operatic work will be played. The choice for this concert will be the evergreen ‘ lolanthe,’ by Sullivan. The soloist for the evening will be Airs W. Hall Alasters.
