MARRIAGES IN VICTORIA
HIGHEST ON RECORD RESULT OF IMPROVED CONDITIONS. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, September 17. (Received September 17, at 11 a.m.) The number of marriages in Victoria in the six months ended June 30—namely, 8,224, was the highest on record. The Government Statistician said the improvement on the corresponding period last year, when the number was 7,717, was probably due to the revival in industry and the better financial outlook throughout Australia.
