RANFURLY SHIELD MATCH OTAGO TEAM TO PLAY WELLINGTON The Otago team to play Wellington on Saturday in the seventh match of the season for the Ranfurly Shield was announced last night by the selectors (Messrs W. Pearson and A. Cameron and Dr Harty). The sid© < has been strengthened by the inclusion of H. Smith as centre three-quarter, this player having recovered from the injury suffered in the match against Manawatu. He has undoubtedly been missed in recent games, and should give the fast wingers, Watt and Black, the extra pace that is needed. Otherwise the backs provide the same combination that has done so well in recent games. There are no changes in the forwards, the pack being exactly the same as the one that pinned down South Canterbury and Canterbury so successfully. The gam© with Wellington will, as usual, probably be one of the best and brightest of the year, and also one of the best contested. The Wellington team includes such players as Pollock, Griffiths, Sadler, Lamason, Wells, Lambourn, Devine, and Andrews, who are all prominent in the Rugby world. The visitors will arrive to-morrow evening and will stop at the Excelsior Hotel during. thenstay in Dunedin.
