MEETING OF CREDITORS TPeb United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 16. The affairs of the Dominion Mercantile Agency Ltd. ; were discussed to-day when the Official Assignee (Mr Tansley) presided over a meeting attended by between 40 and 50 people, the majority being solicitors representing creditors. Assisting Mr Tansley was Mr Powles, _ a solicitor appearing for the petitioning creditors, Messrs Ross and Glendining Ltd. It was unanimously decided to make no application to the court for the appointment, of a liquidator in place of the Official Assignee or for the appointment of a committee of inspection. Mr Tansley will carry on with the liquidation. It was decided that the Assignee should call for tenders for the purchase of the business as a going concern and as a whole, or for the purchase of separate branches in Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch. Although no detailed statement was available as to' the exact financial position of the agency, the deficiency was stated to be between £6,G00 and £7,000. the creditors numbering 700 and the debtors 500.
