HOMING PIGEON RACE
The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a flock race, with 114 birds competing, from Ashburton, an airline distance of 150 miles to central lofts. Flying conditions were ideal, and the birds put up a fast flight. The winning bird’s time was 3hrs Cmin 15scc. The first five places were filled ns follow (velocities in yards per minute): C. Buxton’s Flying Chief, 1.409.3, 1 ; A. F-snuilant’s Crusader. 1.392.5. 2; R. Fitzgerald’s Red Glow. 1,389.2, 3; A. Lucas’s Oratrix. 1,387.2, 4; J. Lynn’s Blue Rak, 1,386.4, 5.
