POLO PONIES

READY DEMAND IN ENGLAND [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 11. After playing in a number of matches in England, two members of the well-known Australian polo team, the Ashton brothers, arrived at Auckland by the Tamaroa from England. They were R. R. and P. S. Ashton, the * former of whom was one of the umpires in the international matches between England and the United States. They said that they will probably send some polo ponies they have trained to England, because there was a ready demand there for Australian and New Zealand-trained ponies. They left 14 ponies behind them in England, which they intend to visit again next year to take part in the British Empire championship for the Prince of Wales Cup.
