ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE MEETS

A meeting of ‘the executive of the Otago Hockey Association was held last evening. The president' (Mr D. T. Woodfield) occupied the chair, and there were also present Messrs W. M'Queen, O. J. Begg, H. Pickup, A. C. Barnes, A. Roberts, E. W. Mensem, J, Ainger, J. P. Northey, R. M‘Kelvey, and B. Felton. Mr M'Queou was appointed as the Otago referee for the senior match between Otago and Southland, to be played at Invercargill on Saturday. It was agreed to pay the fares of the members of the primary schools’ team to Invercargill on Saturday to play Southland, and to apply to the O.S.P.S.S.A. for a refund of half the amount. Mr R. M'Kelvey was appointed manager of the primary schools’ team. Mr 0. J. Begg was appointed as manager of the Otago senior team.. It was reported that R. Kerr -would he unable to go to Invercargill, and F. R. Brebner was appointed to replace him as right full-back. The Chairman reported that he could provide a team to play Canterbury at Christchurch on September 19 if the association wished to confirm the fixture. It was decided to send a team, and to advise Canterbury to that clfect.
