CITY COUNCIL CONTRIBUTION RECOMMENDED The Finance Committee of the City Council recommends that authority be granted to make a contribution of £IOO to the South Island Travel Association of New Zealand, of which sum £SO only shall be paid in the current financial year. As there is no statutory authority for incurring the expenditure the amount will be a charge against the “ unauthorised ” account. _ The association has advisedrthat it will require an income of £5.000 a year to function properly, and that in the meantime contributions and subscriptions are to be entirely on a voluntary basis.
