RESTIVE WORKERS
STRIKES IN FRANCE THE RED FLAG HOISTED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, September 9. Another rift in the French Popular Front has again aroused anxiety about the future of the Blum Government. The widespread uneasiness throughout the Continent is reflected by a sudden weakness in gold currencies. Seven thousand workers in the Michelin tyro factory yesterday downed tools, occupied the factory', and hoisted the Red Flag. Strikes also occurred in Paris and in Eastern, Central, and Southern France. A general strike has been begun in all works and factories in Marseilles. M. Blum hopes to avoid summoning Parliament until November, but the situation may compel an earlier assembly.
