THE NEW GERMANY
SUCCESS DF NAZI DOCTRINE HITLER WILDLY CHEERED AT CONGRESS Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright NUREMBERG, September 9. (Received September 10, at 11 a.m.) Twenty thousand Nazis who packed the Congress Hall wildly cheered Herr Hitler, who was escorted by 600 liagbearers.
Herr Hess, delivering the opening speech, declared that this year’s congress was called “ the honour congress.” Tho three previous congresses had been named “ Victory,” “ Consolidation,” and “Equality.” “Germany now possesses,” he said, “ full equality and sovereignty over all its territory. Events in Spain show that Germany is again in a position to defend her subjects abroad. Bolshevism reveals itself in all its naked beastliness in Spain.” Herr Hitler’s proclamation stated; “ The Nazi doctrine is confirmed by its visible success. Our ports are no longer churchyards. Our factories have quadrupled their staffs, and Krupps is resounding with activity.” HERR HITLER'S PROCLAMATION A NEW FOUR-YEAR PLAN, NUREMBERG, September 9. (Received September 10, at 11 a.m.) Loud and prolonged cheers greeted the statement in Herr Hitler’s proclamation that “ Germany cannot renounce her claim for settlement of her colonial demands. Some say we do not need colonies. Nevertheless we would know how to make them an economic success. It would bo less difficult for us than reduction of unemployment, in which all other Governments have failed. We must export in order to buy agricultural and other products, and for this reason it is unreasonable for the world to complain of our cheap exports.” The proclamation then explained that it was impossible to increase wages at present, as it would lead to devaluation, and announced a new four-year plan designed to make Germany independent of other countries for all raw materials which could be produced by German chemists, machines, and factories. The establishment of these new industries would absorb workers after rearmament was completed. The proclamation stated that realisation of the four-year plan would depend on social peace. “ Where would Germany be if she had strikes, or if the workers believed they could fix their own wages? We are resolved to make Germany so strong that we will be able to ward off any attack from outside with the utmost brutal determination. This is the reason for our military measures, which will be increased or decreased according to necessity. Young Germans for all time will belong to the army for two years. Generation after generation will make this sacrifice. Germany is stronger than ever in political and military leadership.” Herr Wagner, Governor of Bavaria, read the proclamation on behalf of Herr , Hitler, then to the accompaniment of blaring trumpets and beating drums Herr Hitler left the hall and the vast crowds dispersed.
