CANTERBURY HISTORIAN KILLED [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 9. The body of Alfred Selwyn Bruce, a well-known business man, formerly Christchurch manager of Messrs E. Reece Ltd., and later Christchurch manager of Messrs Briscoe and Co. Ltd., and since 1910 indentor on his own account, was found on the rocks near Sumner this afternoon. He had evidently fallen from the Scarborough cliffs into the sea. Mr Bruce was author of a book on the early days of Canterbury, and was well known for his research into the history of the province.
