TWENTY-ONE YEARS SECRETARY
MR W. A. ROWLAND'S EFFORT N [By H.p.s.] Secretary of the one club for 21 years without a break. That is the line effort accomplished by Mr W. A. Rowland, secretary of the Grange Cricket Club, last season’s premier team. Mr Rowland is responsible in no small measure for the very sound position now occupied by the Grange Club, and he is
generally conceded to be one of the most model secretaries associated with any sports organisation in Dunedin. ills work on behalf of cricket has not been confined to his own club, however, for ho is secretary of the Otago Umpires’ Association, lias been a member of the Otago Cricket Association for many years, and for a Jong period was’ chairman of the Grade Committee. He has been manager of the Otago Plunket Shield team on more than one occasion, and for many years was Otago’s official scorer. A man of sound judgment, Mr Rowland has proved a very able administrator, and on being elected secretary of the Grange Club for the twenty-first year he has been warmly congratulated on all sides.
