GALSWORTHY DRAMA APPRECIATED
REPERTORY SOCIETY’S PRESENTATION It was a happy thought, the Dunedin Repertory Society’s latest choice of John Galsworthy’s brilliant draxnatio masterpiece, ‘ The Skin Game,’ and the extensive public support accorded it indicated, -thjtfgit .wag, v alsp .rgidely a&Dpm , a&Vted .weivST qlialma as li»capture'' ■ the distinctive spirit of. Galsworthy when the play was announced,,but the polished presentation of this outstanding work only showed further good reason for recognition of the society as a worthy one.. His Majesty’s Theatre was booked out for the final staging of the play on Saturday night, and no more thoroughly satisfied audience could ever have left the theatre. Furthermore, it was quick to reward the actors for their efforts where credit was due, while at the curtain it bestowed ‘ on them large quantities of floral tributes and other tokens of appreciation. It was a uniformly excellent cast, with the laurels going principally to Mr Richard White, Miss Anita Winkel, Mr S. G. Lock, Miss Violet Livingston, and Miss Joyce Messent, in that order. The settings and stage direction were faultless, while enjoyable musical interludes by Mr Charles Martin’s D.I.C. Orchestra were provided during the intervals. . J
