PERSONAL

Mr F. Jones, M.P., arrived from Wellington on Saturday. Mr James Begg returned from Wellington on Saturday. Mr Richard Hudson arrived back from' Christchurch on Saturday. The Rev. D. C. Herron left by today’s express for Auckland to attend the 70th annversary of St. David’s Church, from which he was appointed minister at Knox Church.

Miss L. Saunders, who has accepted a call to the mission fields of India, was farewelled on the railway platform to-day by a large gathering of representatives of the Dunedin Presbyterian young women’s Bible class movement. Mr Andrew Johnston, the blind soldier evangelist, returned to his home in Gore by this morning’s express. Mr W. Burton, New Zealand representative for John Fuller and Son, entrained for Wellington to-day. Mr Tasman O’Brien, of Auckland, returned north to-day.

Mr H. J. Graham travelled to Invercargill to-day. Mr J. Quaile, who has been on a business visit to Wellington, returned on Saturday afternoon. Messrs P. W, Breen, A. J. Allen, and J. L. Passmore, who attended the annual meeting of the South Island Motor Union at Christchurch, returned on Saturday afternoon.

Prior to leaving Mosgiel School for Clyde, Mr R. Boroman, who has been on the primary staff of the high school for two years, was farewelled by the scholars and the staff. Mr Kaye (rector), on behalf of the staff, presented Mr Boroman with a pipe, and at the school Master Andrew Kennedy (on behafl of the boys) and Miss E. Howland (on behalf of the girls) with a fountain pen and a serviette ring.
