YOUNG WOMAN'S DEATH. At tho inquest on Jessie Willetts, aged 26, single, whose body was found with the throat cut and a bloodstained razor alongside on a hill overlooking the northern portion of the town, the coroner (Mr W. Bongard) returned a verdict of suicide while of unbalanced state of mind. Evidence was given that the deceased left her home early on Saturday morning. She had been depressed for some months as a result of worrying over her health after reading a medical book. She thought she was suffering from tuberculosis, but medical opinions were definitely to the contrary. She had been advised to take a holiday, and expressed the intention of doing so shortly.—Thames Press Association. FOUND WITH BULLET WOUND. Two and a-half hours after being found with a bullet wound in his head, Thomas Louis Bairs Ward, aged 61 years, died at Waikouaiti on Saturday Mr Ward, who had only recently purchased a small farm at Waikouaiti, left the house about 9 a.m. on Saturday and went to a small hut some distance away, and there he was found about half an hour later in an unconscious condition with a wound in his temple. A gun was lying beside him. Dr Thomas, of Palmerston, was summoned, but the man died about midday without recovering consciousness. An inquest was opened before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., at Waikouaiti yesterday, when preliminary evidence was given by Mrs Ward and Constable Hayward, the inquest being adjourned to allow Dr Thomas to be called. TWO SUDDEN DEATHS. Mrs Fraser, aged 85 years, died suddenly at her residence, 22 Islington street, North-east Valley, on Friday evening. Dr Evans was summoned, and pronounced death due to natural causes. Alexander Blackwood, a widower, aged 65 years, collapsed and died while sitting in a chair at his residence, 21 Greenock street, Kaikorai, about 8.50 p.m. on Saturday. Dr Perry was _ summoned and certified death as being due to heart failure. _ An inquest will not be necessary in either case. SECOND VICTIM DEAD. A Nelson Association message states that, following the motor cycle fatality at Brightwater which resulted in the death of Allen Nicholls, the rider of a motor cycle, the death has occurred of George Farley Taylor, tho cyclist who was run into by Nicholls. The police are still unable to find the whereabouts of Taylor’s relatives, NURSE SERIOUSLY INJURED. An Association message from Hamilton states that as the result of a collision between three cars on the Main South road a few Hundred yards north of Hamilton Borough boundary yesterday, Miss Margaret Birss (21), a nurse in Auckland Hospital, is_ lying in Waikato Hospital in a serious condition. Miss Birss was driving a two-seater light car from Auckland with the owner, a young man, seated beside her. As the car turned a corner it collided with another ear, driven by Mr W. A. Phillips, chairman of directors of the New Zealand Co-operative Pig Marketing Association. The car driven by Miss Birss carried on, striking another car, and Miss Birss was thrown Heavily on to tho road CYCLIST INJURED.

When riding a bicycle in Crawford street this morning John Peters, aged 15, who resides with his parents at Butler street, Maori Hill, collided with a motor van. He was admitted to the hospital at 11.15 a.m. suffering from a fractured collarbone and shock.
