AEROPLANE TRADE BOOMING

SIX MACHINES FOR N.Z. SERVICES

[Per United Press Association.]

AUCKLAND. September 28

Flight-lieutenant Bolt returned by the Ilemuera this morning after purchasing in England three De Havilfand planes for the Cook Strait Airways and three for the Union Airways. He expressed the hope that the Cook Strait service would be started in December. He said that the trend of aeroplane design in England was departing from the old wire and strut style and was approaching more closely the clean-cut lines of the American product. “In England the aeroplane trade*is booming, and the internal air services are working at full pressure. Planes are leaving the main centres for London at least three or four times daily.”
