While more than 150,000 people watched ’ Archbishop Amleto Giovanni Cioognani, Ambassador of the Pope to the United States, conduct a midnight pontifical low , mass at Cleveland Stadium M part of the seventh National Eucharistic Congress, more than half the congregation carried lighted candles, which provided illumination for the vast outdoor cathedral, with the exception of a few, spotlights which played on the glass-enclosed altar.
