PROTESTANT ALLIANCE
The quarterly meeting of Valley True Blue Lodge was held on Tuesday, W.M. Bro. Reid presiding over a good attendance of officers and members. Visitors included W.6.M. Bro. Lindsay and Ins executive officers, and P.M. Bro. Weir and officers of Triumph Lodge. It was decided to improve facilities in the lodge room, and this should greatly assist social functions. Owing to the prevalence of influenza sick pay this period was much larger than usual. Arrangements are now completed for the annual church parade to be held on October 6, and a good attendance seems assured. A vote of thanks was accorded the visitors, W.G.M. Bro. Lindsay, D.G.M. Bro. Hellyer, and G.T. Bros. Sincock and Perrin, of the Grand Executive, ' suitably responding. S.E. Bro. Pepperill responded on behalf of Triumph. P.M. Bro.- Devlin, who is leaving shortly on a visit to the North Island, was asked to convey greetings from Valley True Blue to the northern lodges, and promised to do so. After thfe lodge closed a social hour was spent, W.M. Sister Gumming presided over a good attendance of members at the i meeting of Pride of Valley Ladies held on Tuesday. One candidate was initiated. An invitation to attend the annual church'parade of Valley True Blue to be held in the United Congregational Church on October 6 was accepted. Visitors present included Bros. Devlin and Steel and Sister Matthewson, of Triumph. The visitors were warmly welcomed, P.M. Bro. Devlin expressing thanks. . True Blue Juveniles held their fortnightly meeting on Tuesday, D.M. Bro. Davys presiding over a good attendance. One candidate was ■ initiated. After urgent business had been disposed of the lodge adjourned to visit Hope of Valley Juveniles, where an enjoyable time was spent. At the quarterly meeting of Hope of Valley Juvenile Girls’ Lodge, W.M. Sister Knox presided over an excellent attendance. Visitors included Dominion Superintendent Bro, Perrin, Superintendents Sister Matthewson and Bro. Drysdale, W.M. Bro. Davys, and members of True Blue Juveniles. _ An inspiring address was given to the juveniles by Dominion Superintendent Bro. Perrin. A vote of thanks was accorded the visitors, W.M. Sister Knox expressing the pleasure of the lodge at having the visiting superintendents and members with them. Bro, Perrin, in his reply congratulated the lodge on its efficient working, and expressed confidence in its future success.
