LONDON, September 24. At the annual meeting of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, Sir Ernley Blackwell’s proposal to revert to the old principle of ‘‘ lost ball, a lost hole, in match play was overwhelmingly defeated. Overseas representatives declared that the new rule was working well in their, respective countries. The contention that the penalty of the loss of a hole for a lost ball was inequitable was practically unanimous.
