VISITING DUNEDIN
CHAMPION LADY SWIMMER C .■■ ■ At present on a holiday visit to Dunedin is Miss Patty Sporle, the Manawatu lady champion swimmer and one of New Zealand’s best performers. Miss Sporle, who is the guest Mrs J. M‘Taggart, of the Dunedin Amateur Swimming Club, has held New Zealand junior and intermediate championships, and at Palmerston North two seasons ago she won the New Zealand intermediate girls’ 220yds championship. She has competed at the last two national championship meetings, and it is possible she may be in Dunedin when the Otago Centre holds its first carnival on October 28. In tliat event, she wdll be invited to compete in the 100yds ladies’ handicap. Miss Sporle is a daughter of Mr O. C. Sporle, who is president of the Manawatu Swimming Centre.
