ENORMOUS TRANSFER FEES £12,009 REJECTED FDR CHE PUYER Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 23. That £12,000 was rejected for a footballer was revealed by the ‘ Daily Mail.’ which declares that money cannot buy talent this season. Clubs willing to pay enormous transfer fees are thwarted because stars are too difficult to replace. Arsenal spent £30,000 last year on players, and has now unsuccessfully bid £12,000 for Watson, the Heart of Midlothian player.- Liverpool rejected £13,000 for two inside forwards, Fulham £IB,OOO for three men, Blackburn declined £B,OOO for its centre-forward, and Hotspurs directly sought twelve players unsuccessfully.
