A RUSH OF WATER
WAVE BREAKS OVER SHIP CARPENTER SERIOUSLY IHJUKD Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright BRISBANE, September 24. (Received September 24, at 11.30 a.m.) A tremendous wave broke over the Changto off Newcastle on Saturday night, smashing the cabin windows and shattering the interior doors and walls. The ship’s carpenter was seriously injured. Mrs A. M'Keller, of New Zealand, said the passengers were dining when a great volume of water rushed down the stairway and swirled about their feet. The women screamed and there was a rush for the deck. Other passengers spoke of the plight of the women and l children in the cabins where they were found in drenched night attire. Many suffered shock. •
