The bodies of Mrs Elsie Steele (28), her son Glen (four), ami daughter Norma (six) were found on the river bank at Cardwell. When a fisherman was stepping from his boat he trod on something that yielded, and was horrified to find that it was the body of one of the children. The husband of the dead woman was absent from home at the time of the tragedy.
