LUTTRELL KNOCKED OUT [Per Usitto Press Association’.l CHIUSTCHUIICH, June 20. The professional heavy-weight title of New Zealand was at stake this evening ina bout between V 7. Lnttrell, Hastings (12.10), and M. Strickland, Wellington (12.12). Lnttrell was knocked out early in the ninth round. Ray Nicol, Invercargill. tho holder of the title, was to have fought Lnttrell, but Nicol was unable to fight because of a boil on the arm, and voluntarily forfeited the title. It was a poor bout, and Lnttrell lasted so long only because ho was very fit. In a professional feather-weight bout C. Hume, Wellington (8.8) boat P. Hawes, Christchurch (8.10) on points, it was a very even fight. The title was not-at stake.
