SCALDED HAND

DAMAGES AWARDED [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON. June 20. Damages amounting to £l5O were assessed by Mr Justice Blair in favour of Eileen Marie Leniston, of Wellington, in respect to injuries suffered by her in April, 1933, in the course of her employment at Woolworths (New Zealand) Ltd., the defendant company. Plaintiff was filling a teapot from an urn of boiling water, and owing to the tap being faulty she scalded her left hand. Dermatitis followed, and the plaintiff had been unable to work practically ever since. The medical evidence was that her disability would last for some months.
