Twenty-nine starters. CYCLE ROAD RAGE CHRISTCHURCH TO DUNEDIN AND BACK [Pan Ukjtbd Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, June 21. The proposal to hold a four-day _ cycling race was considered by the North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling, and Axemen s Union last evening, when a committee was set up to report on the result of a conference with the Timaru, Waimate, and Dunedin centres on the subject. The Chairman reported that the executive had considered the proposal for a four-day race from Christchurch to Dunedin and back in four sections— Christchurch to Timaru, Timaru to Dunedin, Dunedin to Waimate, and Waimate to Christchurch. It would be the centre’s annual road race. The btber centres had been, approached, and if assistance was forthcoming from them it would be possible to give the riders a good preparation for the centenary race round Victoria. The Centenary Council had granted £4O towards the expenses of one accredited New Zealand rider, but suggested that a team of riders should be sent. BILLIARDS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.
