The proposal to hold a four-day _ cycling race was considered by the North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling, and Axemen s Union last evening, when a committee was set up to report on the result of a conference with the Timaru, Waimate, and Dunedin centres on the subject. The Chairman reported that the executive had considered the proposal for a four-day race from Christchurch to Dunedin and back in four sections— Christchurch to Timaru, Timaru to Dunedin, Dunedin to Waimate, and Waimate to Christchurch. It would be the centre’s annual road race. The btber centres had been, approached, and if assistance was forthcoming from them it would be possible to give the riders a good preparation for the centenary race round Victoria.
