AMERICAN BATTLESHIPS

A PRACTICE CRUISE MIDSHIPMEN VISIT LONDON (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. RUGBY, Juno IG. Three hundred American naval cadets have arrived in London for a weekend's sight-seeing. They came from the United States midshipmen's practice squadron, consisting of the battleships Wyoming and Arkansas, which yesterday reached Plymouth in the course of a practice cruise. A large programme of social and sporting events has been arranged for the officers and men during their stay at Plymouth, and later other parties will visit London, Oxford, and different places of interest. When the King left Buckingham Palace for Windsor a large party of the American naval cadets were among the huge crowd who witnessed his departure.
