OTAGO MOTOR CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING OF CYCLE SECTION The seventh annual meeting of the Jyclo Section of the Otago Alotor Club ,vas held m the club rooms last night, fir C. Bingham presiding over a large attendance of members. The annual report stated that the year had been a very successful one, despite the difficult times, and good entries had been received for the majority of the events. After a lapse of many years, the hill climb was revived, and ‘was held at Bothune’s Cully, the necessary permission, which had been withhold, having been obtained. This meeting was a very successful one, the previous record for the course being broken by several competitors. ’The fi.ving, half-mile and the beach races at Waikonaiti still attracted many entries, competitors being present from Oaniaru and Invercargill. The fortnightly chib runs, covering a very wide range of activities, attracted a considerable number of members, and it was Imped that an enjoyable and varied programme of events would also he provided this coming season. ‘The Ariel Cup, competed for annually for attendance at meetings and runs, and also for the cleanest machines, had been won by Mr H. Ferguson, with 90 points, tins being the possible number. The social side of the club’s activities had been well catered for by the Social Committee and several' successful functions had been held. The section was indebted to the executive of the Otago Motor Club for the keen interest taken in its affairs, both financial and personal. Thanks were due to the St. John Ambulance Association for the attendance of its members during the vear. The report was adopted without cussion-OFFICE-BEARERS. The following office-bearers were elected Club captain, Air H. Ferguson; secretary, Air J. IX Carson ; treasurer, Air A. Binghi.au; committee— Messrs H. Ferguson, J. Carson, A. E, Bingham, A. Anderson, It. Rillstone, J. Bevin. S. Morris, and Tl. H. Stewart; Social Committee —Messrs S, Alorlis, A- Anderson, H. Rillstone. E. Newall, and R. H, Stewart. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES.
