TAIERI BOWLING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Taieri Bowling Club was held in the pavilion on Thursday evening, there being a fair attendance of members. The president, Mr S. Edwards, occupied the chair, and referred to the loss of a very old and esteemed member, the late Mr W. A Turnbull. . Members stood in silence to honour his memory. The balance-sheet and report stated that the club had had a satisfactory year and been successful in winning the four-rink championship and was runner-up in the interclub and Wednesday matches. The chairman congratulated the winner of the club championship. Mr W.- Ballan. Other club matches were not finished owing to the unsettled weather conditions during the season. Officer-bearers for the ensuing year were elected as follows :—President. Mr Hugh Johnston ; vice-president, Wm. Allan; secretary and treasurer, E. O. Taylor; selector, Mr Wm. Allan; Green Committee, Messrs Gordon and Queleh: General Committee—Messrs Haigh. Murray, M’Lellan. and Edwards; delegate to centre, Mr W. E. Howard; auditor. Mr W. E. M’Lean. Mr Wm. Carswell was elected a life member. The annual subscription was fixed at the same ns last year. It was decided to enter, two sections for the interclub championship, and also to enter for the four-rink, Adess Shield, and Wednesday matches. Thanks were expressed to the ladies for catering, and to the various committees.
