COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS' CONCERT
For the purpose of augmenting the funds of the St. Kilda Beach Improvement Society’s carnival, a most enjoyable concert was presented by the Commercial Travellers’ Entertainers in the Coronation Hall, St. Kilda, on Wednesday night, in tho presence of a moderate audience. The varied nature of the entertainment was in itself a refreshing recommendation, but the nature of the items, together with the high standard of their presentation, gave the programme the stamp of excellence. Songs from popular musical comedies, humorous sketches, monologues, tap dances, instrumental numbers, and novelty _ turns were all enthusiastically received and numerous encores demanded. The following was the programmeOpening chorus, the company; trio—Messrs Norrie Larkin, A. Blyth, and A. H. Pettitt; contralto, Miss Dorothy Paine; monologue, Mr Clarence Paine; song, Mr Stan Higgs; humorous song, Miss Vanda Duncan; Eastern novelty. Miss “ Min Wong ” ; violin solo, Mr Norrie Larkin; humorous song, Mr George Mearns; tap dance, Miss Lorna Budge; song, Mr Ted Ottrey; sketch, the company; ‘ Mystery in a Chinese Temple,’ ‘ Chang Lu ’; humorous sketch, Messrs Clarence Paine and G. Mearns; duet, Miss Duncan and Mr Ottrey; ’cello, Mr A. Blyth; lightning sketches, Miss Glenn Mearns; duet, Miss Dorothy Allan and Mr Frank M'Cullough; song, Mr G. Mearns. The concert was followed by a dance.
