CONCERT CELEBRITIES AND BROADCASTING

l.elf Uouishnoff and Horace Stevens, the famous musicians who arc touring New Zealand, were offered .€2O by the Broadcasting Board for a broadcast to be relayed through four stations. This was considered by their manager (Mr Hugo Larsen) to be an affront to artists of their calibre. Mr Larsen said that the board offered £2O for the last part of the concert, which meant that the board would be getting both artists for £lO each. In Australia Pouishnoff received 100 guineas for a single night's broadcast. On a recent night part of the Pouish-noff-St.evcns concert was broadcast over the Friendly road station (1ZB), Auckland.
