SIGNAL HILL
COMPLETION OF ROAD TO RESERVE The formation work on the road leading from Signal Hill road to the reserve on Signal Hill has now reached a stage where increased additional expenditure is required to bring the work to completion (reports the Works Committee of the City Council). Eight culverts are required, of a total approximate length of 400 ft and of diameters varying from loin to 9in. The road also requires to he trimmed to correct grade from its present rough formation state. The estimated cost to the council is £434. This work is very suitable for execution as an unemployment relief measure, and will provide work for a large gang of m.en for about eight months. The committee recommends that authority bo granted to have such work carried out accordingly.
