Mr 6. Z. Lindloy left by the 11.35 train this morning, bound for Wellington. - Mr J. M‘Kay, of Greymouth, ended his Dunedin visit to-day and is on his way home. The Rev. Allen Stevely travelled by train to Ashburton to-day. Mr J. Davis Marks, of Wellington* started on his return journey this morning after a business visit to Dunedin. Mr E. Harrison-Jones, who came from' Nelson three weeks ago, left Dunedin this morning. The Rev. Ronald Watson, M.C., arrived by the express last night front Ashburton. Ho will occupy the pulpit in the morning and evening services at First Church to-morrow. Mr Gordon Bryan, who visited New; Zealand in 1931, has been appointed examiner for this year’s practical examinations of the Associated Board of tlu Royal Schools of Music, London* He will arrive at Wellington on July 4.Dr Norwood, of the City Temple* London, arrived in Dunedin by the express from the north yesterday, and was welcomed at the railway station by the Rev. Percy Paris (president!) and members of the Council of Christian Congregations. Dr Norwood was tendered a civic reception in the evening.

Dr H. J. Finlay has returned io Dunedin from Gisborne,. where he was a member of . the geological party sent out by the Vacuuni Oil Company Pty.. Ltd. to investigate the oil possibilities of Poverty Bay. Scientific research rn the material collected will be continued in Gisborne and in Dunedin until further word is received from America. The Minister of Finance (Mr CoatesV, has received the following personal cablegram from the Hon. J. F.
